Meet Shelley at Redstone Bank. Shelley has worked for Redstone Bank for the last 12 and a half years. Currently, she serves as Vice President/Loan Officer at our Centennial branch. Shelley was born in York, Nebraska but her family moved to Aurora, Colorado when she was five and she’s lived in Colorado ever since.
Shelley has extensive experience in banking since graduating high school and before coming to Redstone Bank. She has experience working in loan administration and working her way into loan supervision and eventually becoming a Loan Officer. In her current role, she works primarily with consumer loans including bridge loans, construction loans, and HELOCs. She supervises and provides support to all of the loan administration representatives and draw and loan clerks. She enjoys getting to know her clients and helping them reach their financial goals.
When asked what’s the best thing about working at Redstone Bank. Shelley said, “I was just saying the other day how I’m more comfortable here than I am at home! Meaning, it feels like home and it’s comfortable and my coworkers feel like family.” That’s one of the many perks of working for a close-knit community bank, your coworkers become friends and family and work becomes something you look forward to each day.
When Shelley isn’t working, she’s busy spending time with her family as much as she can. She’s got three grown children, two daughters and a son, and is a proud grandmother to three boys too. She also has two small dogs, Django and Rudy that keep her on her toes. Shelley enjoys cheering on the Denver Broncos and Avalanche hockey team and she really enjoys doing yard work, she finds it therapeutic. She loves to travel and her favorite destination she’s found so far has been Bolongo Bay in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. She would love to learn how to play the violin and something most people may not know about her is that she is a 20+ year breast cancer survivor!
Shelley loves working for a community bank like Redstone because she loves helping people. Shelley explains, “People should bank at a community bank because the customer service you receive is far more personalized and superior to those “big banks”. We offer the same convenient products and services, but we personalize everything we do. Often you don’t realize the important benefits of a community bank until you have a situation that the “big bank” is unable to help with or accomplish quickly. Here at Redstone Bank, we make quick, local decisions and we’re more flexible, helping find a solution that fits your needs and helps you get on your way faster.”
“When you call my direct line, you get me if I’m in my office. If it’s in the evening or on the weekends, my clients know I’m monitoring my emails and voicemails and I’ll contact them to answer their questions, no matter what else is going on. We pride ourselves on being here for our clients.”
And if you’re thinking about switching banks and you want more of a small-town, personalized feel, Shelley told us why you should switch to Redstone Bank. “When you call my direct line, you get me if I’m in my office. If it’s in the evening or on the weekends, my clients know I’m monitoring my emails and voicemails and I’ll contact them to answer their questions, no matter what else is going on. We pride ourselves on being here for our clients.” It’s that devotion to building relationships and providing high-quality services that truly sets Redstone Bank apart from everyone else.
Finally, we asked Shelley to share her favorite memory of working at Redstone Bank so far. She said “My favorite memory would be during COVID and when it started to slow down, and we were slowly coming back into the offices. We grilled hot dogs outside of the bank and sat in the parking lot in our lawn chairs.
