Over a decade ago, Parker Garage’s owners saw an opportunity to revive history. They purchased the century-old building to restore it to its original township look. Brent Walker, owner of Parker Garage, recalls his first meeting with the building’s original owner: “I sat with him at a little table, right next to a picture of the old Parker Garage—it brought everything full circle and inspired us to bring back a piece of town history.”
Their renovation journey wasn’t without challenges. The building’s age presented structural issues, from underground plumbing to a near-total floor plan redesign. “Every layer we peeled back during the restoration revealed new surprises,” Brent shares, reflecting on the obstacles they encountered during the 10-month project, which ended up stretching five months longer than anticipated.
Since opening its doors, Parker Garage has become a cherished spot in the Parker community. “We’ve survived a lot, including COVID, thanks to our amazing community,” Brent says. “We see a shift now toward community-based experiences in Parker, which has deepened our sense of belonging and our relationship with Redstone Bank.” For Parker Garage, being a part of Parker’s tightly-knit community is a core part of its identity.
The Redstone Partnership: More Than Banking
Brent has worked with Redstone Bank for several years and sees them as an invaluable business partner. “I’ve known Jeff Walker from Redstone for years, going back to my previous restaurants. He’s not just a banker but a friend and a great resource, helping us with decisions and market insights.” Brent’s appreciation for Redstone’s team extends beyond typical business support. “The team knows me by name, and I can tell they genuinely care. Every time I walk through their doors, someone says ‘hello’—the little things like that make them a great partner for our business.”
The relationship between Parker Garage and Redstone is mutually supportive. “It’s fantastic that Redstone Bank staff come by Parker Garage, too. There’s this synergy and sense of mutual support you don’t get with larger banks.”
Unique Hospitality at Parker Garage
At Parker Garage, excellence is a standard. Brent is committed to providing unique dining experiences, carefully curating ingredients for seasonal menus, and building an extensive whiskey and wine program. “When people want to treat themselves, we want to be that special place they think of,” Brent says. “We push ourselves to lead the pack, from our sourcing to our menu, to bring something unique every time.”
Brent takes pride in the consistency of his team, many of whom are long-time Parker residents. “About 60% of our staff are from Parker or nearby. Our customers know them and enjoy seeing familiar faces each time they visit. That consistency and sense of community is what makes Parker special.”
Thriving Through Challenges and Looking to the Future
Despite the uncertainties brought on by COVID, inflation, and rising ingredient costs, Parker Garage remains focused on resilience and community support. “We’ve grown each year, except for COVID, and when people came back, they did so with incredible support. It’s why we’re here today,” Brent reflects. His focus now is on continued growth, from enhancing the decor to updating their back patio for new experiences.
“It all makes sense when you’re part of a community built on relationships and support. Redstone is like us – they’re focused on community first. That’s what makes them a great partner.”
Through every phase of growth, Redstone Bank has been a trusted partner. “Switching to Redstone about five years ago was easy—they made the transition seamless and have been a source of support ever since. I’d recommend Redstone without hesitation for anyone wanting a bank with a truly personal touch.”
A Relationship Built on Shared Values
The Parker Garage story is one of dedication, connection, and an unwavering commitment to quality and community, strengthened by its partnership with Redstone Bank. As Brent puts it, “It all makes sense when you’re part of a community built on relationships and support. Redstone is like us—they’re focused on community first. That’s what makes them a great partner.”
