For nearly a century, Western Welcome Week (WWW) has been the heartbeat of Littleton, Colorado. A beloved tradition that brings neighbors together, celebrates local heritage, and uplifts the community through a vibrant 10-day festival filled with over 30 events. As WWW approaches its 100th anniversary in 2028, the organization continues to evolve while staying true to its roots: honoring the past, celebrating the present, and building a stronger future.

A Legacy of Togetherness

The story of Western Welcome Week began in 1928 with a simple celebration marking the 40th anniversary of the Littleton Independent newspaper. The overwhelming community response inspired a larger event the following year, commemorating the 100th birthday of Littleton’s founder, Richard S. Little. What started as a “Homecoming” has grown into the largest parade in the South Metro area and a cherished annual tradition.

Today, WWW is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity, powered by a working board, an executive director, and a network of dedicated partners, including the City of Littleton, South Suburban Parks and Recreation, and local schools and civic organizations. The festival not only brings joy to thousands but also generates an estimated $75,000 annually for local nonprofits, a testament to its enduring impact.

Rooted in Community, Driven by Purpose

What sets WWW apart is its unwavering commitment to community. With over 20 outside organizations participating each year, the festival serves as a platform for visibility, fundraising, and connection. “We honor tradition, respect the past, and remain open to new ideas and current needs,” says Cindy Hathaway, Executive Director of WWW. That balance of legacy and innovation has helped the organization thrive through challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, and emerge stronger.

Looking ahead, WWW is focused on strategic growth: expanding its board, recruiting new talent, and increasing financial support to ensure the celebration continues well beyond its centennial milestone.

The people at Redstone make all the difference. It’s a hometown banking atmosphere where they know who you are. They’ve introduced us to new products and services that have truly benefited our organization.

A Banking Partner That Feels Like Home

Western Welcome Week

Behind the scenes of WWW’s success is a trusted financial partner: Redstone Bank. From day one, Redstone’s team, including Ryan Johnson, Heath Kinsland, Carrie Klassen, Keith Knox, and Shannon Shofner, has provided more than just banking services. They’ve offered personalized support, proactive communication, and a genuine investment in WWW’s mission.

“The people at Redstone make all the difference,” says Cindy. “It’s a hometown banking atmosphere where they know who you are. They’ve introduced us to new products and services that have truly benefited our organization.”

For WWW, switching to Redstone was about more than convenience; it was about values. “As a former banker, I saw firsthand how corporate banking can lose its personal touch. At Redstone, customer service is exceptional. That’s what keeps us coming back.”

Celebrating the Future

As Western Welcome Week prepares for its 100th celebration, it remains a shining example of what’s possible when tradition, community, and partnership come together. Redstone Bank is proud to support WWW’s journey — past, present, and future.
